Red Five Academy (“we”, “us”) operates redfiveacademy.com and the Red Five Academy Graphic Design Accelerator from British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

Information you give us directly:

• Application details — your name, email address, phone number, city and country, and your answers to the application questions.
• Booking details when you schedule a call with us.
• Enrolment and payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.
• Messages you send us by email, text or through our forms.

Information collected automatically when you use our website:

• Standard log and device information (browser type, pages visited, approximate location from your IP address).
• Cookies and similar technologies used for site analytics and advertising measurement, including the Meta pixel and Google tags.

How we use it

• To review your application, schedule your interview, and communicate with you about admissions.
• To deliver the program to enrolled students — class communications, reminders, materials and support.
• To process payments, deposits and refunds.
• To send marketing messages such as cohort openings and deadlines — only where you have consented, and you can opt out at any time.
• To measure and improve our website and advertising.

Email and text messages

If you consent to text messages, we send them only as described at the point of consent — application and enrolment updates, and, separately and only if you opt in, marketing messages. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Transactional messages about an active application or enrolment (for example, interview confirmations) may still be sent after a marketing opt-out.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information — ever. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Academy, under their own privacy and security obligations:

• Our website, forms, scheduling and communications platform (our customer-relationship system).
• Stripe, for payment processing.
• Zoom, for live classes and calls.
• Google and Meta, for site analytics and advertising measurement.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and pixels to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising, including showing ads to people who have visited our pages. You can limit this through your browser’s cookie settings, and through the ad preference tools offered by Meta and Google.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above — for applicants, through the admissions cycle and a reasonable period after; for students, through the program and as required for legal, tax and record-keeping purposes.

Security

We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information in line with industry practice.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw a consent you have given. Email [email protected] and we will respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Age

Our program and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
